How to Break a Soul Tie

A soul tie is an energetic cord that stays connected between you and someone you've bonded with — usually an ex-partner, sometimes a family member, occasionally a friend. Signs a Soul Tie Is Still Active

Sit somewhere quiet. Close your eyes. Picture the person clearly. Notice where in your body you feel them — most people feel it in the chest, throat, solar plexus, or lower belly. That's where the cord is anchored. Don't judge it, just locate it.

Step 2 — Feel What You Signed Up For

Every soul tie carries an agreement, spoken or unspoken. "I'll wait for you." "I'll never love anyone like this again." "You're the only one who understands me." Whatever oaths your younger self swore in the relationship — say them out loud now. Naming them takes the power back.

Step 3 — Revoke the Agreements

Out loud, in your own words: "I revoke every agreement I made in that relationship, spoken or unspoken, in this life or any other. My energy is my own again." Say it three times. Mean it more each time.

Step 4 — Cut the Cord

Visualize the cord where it lives in your body. Picture gold light forming into a blade — scissors, sword, crescent moon, whatever comes. Cut cleanly. Watch the cord retract on both sides: yours back into you, theirs back into them. Seal your side of the cut with gold light.

Do this daily for seven days. Soul ties don't always cut in one pass. Layers.

Step 5 — Fill the Space

The cord took up room. If you don't refill that space, the tie will try to reattach — often through a random text from them within a week. Fill the space with something that belongs to your future: a walk, a meal you love, time with a friend who has never met this person, a plan you make just for you.

Step 6 — Bless and Release

The last piece, and the one most people skip. Say: "I wish you well. I release you to your own path. I release myself to mine." Blessing them is not for them. It's the final signal to your nervous system that the story is complete.

What If the Tie Won't Break?

Sometimes the cord won't fully release — because the relationship isn't actually over on the soul level, or because there's a karmic contract that still has time left to run.
